Puan Rosnah is a teacher in a public school. She had been a dedicated teacher for some years and was promoted a number of times. But with each successive promotion her workload increased. She has less time with her family because she brought home so much work. Juggling her work and family became increasingly stressful and demands from her children and husband that she stop working at home tore at her need to be a dedicated teacher a good mother and a faithful wife. She became emotionally defensive because of this conflict of interest. She began accusing everyone of not understanding her needs and not appreciating her as a person. She felt isolated and lonely. She dread bringing home assignment and had fights with her husband that ended in tears and chilling silence. She lost her joy in teaching. Everything seems so burdensome and joyless. At about the same time she began to feel anxiety and breathlessness. The doctors say her heart is alright and suggested she eat right and gave her some vitamins. But she felt increasingly exhausted and high strung, affecting her relationship with everyone. Her performance index dropped and her superior told her to buck up. Her children became more demanding and her husband told her she is not the same person he married. She is at a lost as to what to do.
Chong is young, energetic and ambitious. The world was his to conquer but he had a problem that had haunted him since school days and he had never been able to conquer it. He froze in terror each time he was asked to give a speech even a simple report. This problem had limited him in his career.
Mary is a widow. After her husband of 5 years died she felt angry, betrayed and abandoned. Her 3 year old son had to be handed over to her mother-in -law to be cared for as she was forced to seek employment. She felt lonely and strangely ashamed of her single status. She though time would heal but instead she became withdrawn and quiet. She is afraid to start any new relationship , unable to trust anyone and afraid of being abandoned again.
What do you do with Emotional Wounds? All these ordinary people are facing problems that affects their health, hinder their career, threaten their relationships and robbing them of their happiness in life. They are all suffering from negative emotions that affects their behavior. The basic problem is that we are not taught how to process our negative emotions properly. When we have a cut we clean our wound, apply ointment and dress it with a plaster to stop any infection. But what happens when you have an emotional wound? What do you do with it? Some with good intentions but ill advice will say:
Time will Heal It - Will time heal it or bury it so that it festers inside you and reappear as psychosomatic problems? If we do not deal with our negative emotions it will come back and deal with us. Think Positive - If positive thinking can change our emotions all of us can easily just 'will away' our worries and unhappiness. But that is not how things are in reality. Take a Break - This is the most common assumption. That a change of environment will change our emotions. The fact is when we pack our bags for a break we also pack our negative emotions with us.
There are so many bad advice and mismanagement of our negative emotions that we actually accumulate these negative emotions in our body and it begins to take a toll on our mental, emotional and physical health! Remember how you used to enjoy using a new computer. It was so fast and efficient but after some time you notice it slowing down. Why? Because of the thousands of task your computer perform in processing information it will often result in data that is lost or misplace in the registry. The same is true with us as we process hundreds of emotions everyday we fail to process all of it properly especially negative emotions which we actually avoid dealing with. Soon we find ourselves slowing down and unable to cope emotionally like we used to. We lose our temper easily. We become impatient. We become depressed and we even become physically sick because it creates psychosomatic problems.
What do you do with Negative Emotions? We need to learn how to process it correctly and EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique is able to teach us how to effectively, painlessly and quickly process negative emotions even those that had accumulated through the years. Imagine being freed from those horrible emotions which we had carried with us through our lives. Will it not make a wonderful difference in our lives? Maybe more then you realize because some had reported that once their negative emotions were resolved their backache, knee pain, hypertension and other physical symptoms vanished with it! This is because the pain pathway travels to the limbic area of our brain that deals with emotions. That is why EFT is also able to relieve pain. So learn EFT and change your life and others for the better.

TESTIMONIALS
Some day the medical profession will wake up and realize that unresolved emotional issues are the main cause of 85% of all illnesses. When they do, EFT will be one of their primary healing tools...as it is for me. "
Eric Robins, MD
"I have been involved with geriatric health care for 15 years and seen the ravages of diseases on the elderly but never have I been able to intervene effectively until I applied EFT. I have been able to help others, my family and myself. EFT is simply indispensable and a real blessing to all."
Isaac Lim, EFT-ADV/NLP Certified Practitioner/Somatic Therapy/Hypnotherapy/Med.Qigong
I had the fear of driving at night . Each time , I drive, I fear that the car behind would knock into my back. The reason is because on 2 occasions - I was hit on the back. One time while I was waiting at the traffic light and another while driving on the MMR ...at 80mph. It was while I was attending the EFT course conducted by Mr. Isaac Lim that he did the 'EFT' tapping on me ..... back home I also did the tapping on myself. The next time I drove, the fear just vanished. I can now say that I do not fear the car behind me anymore. Thank you.

"EFT has been for me, the single most effective technique I've used in my 45 years of practice as a psychiatrist."
Curtis Steele, MD
I had been suffering from cramps on both legs for the past 5 years and it was getting worse. I dread going to sleep as I often wake up with agonizing cramps either on my calf, ankle or toes.I took muscle relaxant and Neurobion but it was of little help. I even used an electrode device to relief the cramping but it does not prevent it. After a particular painful episode of almost hourly cramps Isaac Lim did EFT for me and the next night there was only two slight cramps, the next day none, now this is day 16th. and there has been absolutely no cramps at all what a relief!

MALAYSIAN MENTAL HEALTH SCENE
Star report on Sunday June 15, 2008
Liow: 6% of Malaysians have suicidal thoughts due to stress
KUALA LUMPUR: About 6% of Malaysians have thought about suicide at some point in their lives and that is alarming, said Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai.
The bulk of those who have thought of killing themselves were aged between 16 and 24 years old, according to the National Health and Morbidity Survey in 2006, he said.
“The young do not know how to handle stress. If we can help them identify problems, they should be able to solve the root of the problems,” he said after launching the Let's Overcome Stress 2008 at SMK Seri Permaisuri here yesterday.
He said the ministry would work with the Education Ministry to train school counsellors with more skills and techniques so that they are better able to guide students about how to handle stress.
Liow said the survey showed that 20% of children and 11% of adults had stress-related mental problems.
He said the group aged between 70 and 74 was the group with most stress-related problems (19.5%), followed by those aged between 16 and 19 (14.4%).
“About 14% of adults have acute sleeping problems. Those who have stress-related problems can seek help in government hospitals and clinics.
“We have doctors and psychiatrists to assist them to handle their stress. We're concerned about this trend.”
>Star report on 29th.Dec.2007
In 10 to 15 years time, suicide will take second spot as the highest cause of death in the country after cardiovascular disease.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Prof See Ching Mey said in 2005, there were nine to 12 suicides for every 100,000 people compared to 13 suicides per 100,000 last year.
She also commented that three million Malaysians have mental health problems and 130,000 of them were children.
“This shows that despite the technology and medical advancements that improve our living standards, many are actually feeling worse,” she said in her inaugural professorial lecture yesterday.
>Berita Harian a local newspaper reported that 30% of Malysians are suffering from acute emotional stress and would require intervention before it detiorates into anxiety attacks and depression.
>Malaysian Psychiatric Association newsletter says anxiety disorder is very common. A rough estimate is that all the anxiety disorders together may affect up to 25% to 30% of the Malaysian population. For panic disorder, the estimate is up to 5%, with women outnumbering men by two to three times. They most commonly develop in early adulthood, with a mean age of presentation about 25 years old, but the disorder can develop at any age. They have been reported in children and adolescents and are probably being under-reported in this age group. Most of them also suffer from depression as a result of severe symptoms and continuing fear and apprehension.
Anxiety is a commonly experienced symptom. Most of us feel anxious and tense in the face of threatening or stressful situations. Such feelings are normal reactions to stress thus anxiety is an alerting signal; it warns of impending danger and enables the person to take measures to deal with a threat. It is also known as the fight or flight reaction.
Anxiety is considered abnormal when they;
Are abnormally severe or prolonged
Occur in the absence of stressful circumstances.
Associated with impaired physical, social or occupational functioning.
Anxiety disorders include a group of disorders in which anxiety is the main symptom.
Below are some anxiety disorders:
Generalised Anxiety Disorders
This means persistent and overblown worry about two or more things, without good reason. It is characterised by unrealistic or excessive anxiety about various everyday circumstances, fear of negative evaluation by others and worries about physical health.
Phobias
These are unrealistic fears of certain objects or situations. Examples include simple phobias, such as fear of snakes; social phobiasm such as fear of meeting new people; and agoraphobia, such as being afraid to go outside alone.
Panic Disorders
Characterised by a sidden and unexpected sense of terror, and feelings of approaching death. Accompanying physical signs include rapid pulse, nausea and shallow breathing.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders
Repeated, unwanted thoughts (ruminations) or compulsive behaviours (rituals). Obsessions mean persistent, senseless ideas, such as continual fear of contamination or illness. Examples of compulsions include repetitive cleaning, checking or counting.
Symptoms of Common Anxiety Disorders
Worry or fear that something bad will happen
Trembling, twitching or feeling shaky
Fatigue or restlessness
Muscle tension or jitteriness
Feeling dizzy or lightheaded - faintness
Fast heartbeat or breathing rate
Sweatning, or cold and clammy hands
Dry mouth, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
Irritability, impatience, easily distracted
Shortness of breath - breathlessness- difficulty breathing
Difficulty swallowing
Sharp pains in the chest or chest discomfort
Abdominal pain - stomach pain
Hot or cold flashes
Fears of losing control, dying or "going crazy"
Some anxiety symptoms may occur in anyone experiencing a difficult situation. The difference between such "normal" anxiety and an anxiety disorder is that the anxiety disorder's overwhelming tensions happen even when there is no real danger. People with an anxiety disorder may often take extreme actions to avoid the source of their anxiety. If several of the above symptoms seems clearly associated with a specific situation or object, and persist over time, you may need to seek help.
