Quote
This quote by Eric Robins, MD captures the essence of EFT:
”Some day the medical profession will wake up and realize that unresolved emotional issues are the main cause of 85% of all illnesses. When they do, EFT will be one of their primary healing tools …. as it is for me.”

WHEN EAST MEETS WEST
EFT abbreviated for Emotional Freedom Techniques as the founder Gary Craig has called this healing technique is the marriage of two highly recognized and effective medical sciences. One from the East namely meridian points energy therapy from which we have acupuncture, acupressure, qigong… and another from the West namely psychotherapy. The marriage of the best medical sciences from two great ancient civilizations had given birth to an amazingly simple and highly effective therapy call ‘EFT’ under the banner of energy psychology.
HOW IT STARTED
In 1971 when Dr. Henry Kissinger was on a diplomatic visit to China an accompanying New York Times reporter James Reston had acute appendicitis and was operated on by Chinese physicians. He suffered post operative pains that was effectively treated with acupuncture. This new eastern therapy was sensationalized by US magazines and newspapers. Soon acupuncture and it’s meridian principles became accepted in America. It is reported that there are almost 2,000 registered American acupuncturist today.
In 1990 clinical psychologist Dr. Roger J.Callahen,Ph.D discovered that tapping on the meridian points and using cognitive therapy produced amazing results. He discovered TFT (Though Field Therapy) and its amazing ability to heal more effectively and exceeded his professional experience as a psychologist. He then nurtured it’s development into a clinically respected field. But it was his student Gary Craig who in 1995 developed it into an elegantly simplified therapy “EFT” (Emotional Freedom Techniques) that could be easily taught even to a child. In this simplified form EFT propagate exponentially. It was also his generosity in making the EFT manual as a free download that EFT has become accessible world wide. It has since been translated into 26 languages showing it’s universal appeal. With an estimated 10,000 downloads per week from various sites it has been extrapolated that almost a million people world wide had been touched by the wonderful healing powers of EFT. How many had become enthusiastic EFT practitioners today we can only guess. EFT has spread like wild fire not only because of its simplicity but also more importantly its effectiveness, as thousands of testimonies comfirms its wonderful healing powers.
